Directly from the “You can’t make this stuff up” files: Wells Fargo Fined !
“Going Far Together” the tag line for Wells Fargo takes on a new meaning today. An estimated two million new accounts were open by Wells Fargo employees without the customers knowledge. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and the state of California has fined the bank $185 million. This honestly seems like a slap on the wrist to me. Meanwhile the mortgage originators at banks do not need a license, or background check like I do. The banks claim is that those things are not needed because the banks do such a good job of vetting their employees. Seriously!
